"Appliances" Appliances should be clean and dry when placed into storage. Items such as refridgerators and freezers should have the doors wedged slightly open but secured. A closed up refridgerator or freezer can have a serious oder after being stored for awhile. But one should also take great care to insure that a child can not be trapped inside such appliances. Items such as stoves, toasters, and breadmakers need to be cleared of all food crumbs to prevent attracting unwanted rodents.
All appliances should be wrapped in a heavy blanket or other packing material to prevent scrapes or scratches to the item's surface in moving. Storing owners manuals, accessories, power cords etc. with the appliances will make finding and using these items easier in the future. One should insure that any batteries for clocks or other options inside the appliances be removed before placing the item into storage.
